We tried Perry’s diner and I had the chicken fried steak and wife had the fish (Fridays only). Wow! The chicken fried steak was crispy, tender and delicious. The mashed potatoes were oblivious homemade and soft and fluffy. My wife shared her fish with me and honestly the best catfish in Wise County. The diner is in old Chico fountain shop and has a vibe of the 1940’s soda shop. It is an older building so don’t expect anything other than retro decor. Our waitress was very attentive even though she was crazy busy. Prices were on point for a diner level restaurant. Literally everything was delicious! I highly recommend Perry’s Diner!
Fantastic! Miss the good ol’ days? This is it! Home style cooking with plateful servings and taste! Off the chart dinning experience that harkens back to wonderful and authentic Texas small town warm & fuzzies. Catfish Friday’s is a delight! Absolutely best catfish in North Texas! Perry’s Diner is a Historic Texas Landmark in Chico in a restored 19th Century drugstore. If you can’t go during the week put this on your weekend getaway drive wish list! You will be glad you did!
Great food- steak fingers, patty melt and coconut cream pie were delicious. Happy to see the old drugstore being used!
